This is an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Manager. The role will be based at our Bike Workshop, Haven Road, Exeter. We need to appoint an inspiring and engaging Bike Workshop Manager, who is also a qualified mechanic (CYTECH 2 or above) who has experience and technical skills in cycle maintenance and be the day to day face of Ride On.
The role of Workshop Manager is a crucial role for Ride On and we are looking for someone who will be able to embrace the ethos of the charity as well as the confidence to manage the day to day activities in the workshop, direct other team members and volunteers and be an open and be the welcoming face for the charity to customers and other visitors.The Bike Workshop has several key activities: refurbishing donated bikes to ensure that they are roadworthy and fit for purchase. We provide regular one day training programmes for cyclist who would like to be able to service their own bicycles.
In addition, we offer volunteer opportunities to build and maintain bicycles. These volunteers require guidance and supervision. Furthermore, Ride On also conducts outreach to local events, schools and businesses such Dr Bike (Safety checks) and the Workshop Manager will be expected to take part of these on a regular basis.
